ACS Invests to Make Iowa Future Ready December 18 2019 ACS is proud to announce we are investing in Iowa’s’ youth to help grow the pool of career-ready individuals in the state as part of the Future Ready Iowa initiative. On December 4, 2019, Governor Reynolds announced ACS as one of 22 recipients of the Future Ready Iowa Employer Innovation Fund. The state matching grant is designed to help employers provide post-secondary training and education to their employees. Through this program, ACS will match funds provided by the state to hire technology interns from metro area colleges and high schools, who will gain real-world experience in Help Desk, Cybersecurity, and Data Security professions. Graduates of the program will be prepared to enter the workforce in order to meet the need for skilled technology professionals in Iowa. “ACS is passionate about technology, delivering for our clients, and being involved in our communities. This program will allow us to further our work with DMPS and colleges in Central Iowa. We saw an opportunity to share our passion and make students aware of exciting and high paying technology jobs in Iowa, so we jumped at the chance to be involved,” said Sean Johnson, VP of Operations at ACS. Iowa has one of the nation’s lowest unemployment rates, and as such, finding qualified talent, especially technical talent, can be difficult.
