Open Position: Pre-Sales Engineer

Purpose of Job  

Pre-Sales Engineer will Partner with Client Executives to provide the technical Pre-Sales work for our customers across our Storage and Virtualization (S&V) and Security and Connectivity (S&C) Divisions. The Pre-Sales Engineer role will bring technical Pre-Sales experience to ACS’ clients and safely navigate our clients through technology…simply and efficiently.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participation in client sales meetings, presentations, white board sessions and custom technical design work.
  • Teams with ACS Client Executives to build customer relationships, partnering with multiple OEM's and taking part in technical training to provide continued value to our clients.
  • Increase S&C and S&V (Hyper-Converged, Storage, Servers, Compute, Virtualization, Backups, Fabric, Networking, Security, etc.) expertise to support existing and new technologies.
  • Uses knowledge of technology, products and services to build business technology solutions (and solution options) for the client.
  • Works with clients and Sales team to obtain technical priorities, challenges, and initiatives that can be translated into S&C and S&V opportunities.
  • Responsible for the coordination, delivery, and quality of pre-sales technology solution deliverables such as configurations, architectural diagrams, and proposals.
  • Develops and fosters relationships with strategic original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and key data center partners.
  • Assists in Statement of Work and Proof of Concept review and development.
  • Ensures that proposed solutions, when implemented, meet the needs and functional requirements of the client.

Education & Experience Requirements

Candidates have 3+ years of technical enterprise and 2+ years of Pre-Sales experience. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills. Excellent presentation skills and technical sales skills. Must have passion driving networking/storage/server/virtualization solution strategies. Strong personality with leadership skills. Strong presence and credibility to be proven at client site and internally. Knowledge of the technical aspects of networking, storage, server, backup and virtualization hardware, software and architecture(s). IBM, Cisco, Dell/EMC, Microsoft and/or VMware certifications highly desired.

This position will require the ability to travel.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Database software; Internet software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
